Amber-Sekowan Daniels

AMBER-SEKOWAN DANIELS is a mixed Anishininew (Oji-Cree) screenwriter and comedian. She was raised in Winnipeg and is a proud band member of the Garden Hill First Nation in the Island Lake region of Northern Manitoba.

She is heading into production as a co-showrunner on the half-hour comedy Acting Good with CTV. Amber is also developing Garbage Hill, a coming of age Urban Indigenous series with Crave. She was in the room for CBC’s second season of Trickster for Sienna Films based on the novels by Eden Robinson and co-wrote on Diggstown III for CBC and Circle Blue Entertainment.

Amber’s stand-up comedy has been featured in the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Oddblock Comedy Festival and on CBC’s The Debaters. She was a participant in the 2018 Whistler Film Festival Indigenous Filmmaker Fellowship and the 2019 Netflix-BANFF Diversity of Voices initiative. She currently serves on the WGC’s Diversity Committee and was recently awarded Reel World Film Festival’s 2021 Trailblazer award.
