Katy Haynes is a proud Métis woman born and raised in Treaty 1 Territory, the heart of the Métis nation. She has grown up surrounded by her Métis culture her whole life and is very proud of her heritage. Katy was selected for the competitive National Screen Institute’s New Voices Program. An internship at Eagle Vision launched Katy’s career and she has now become an essential part of the Eagle Vision team. Katy has taken on many roles, preparing her for her path as a producer.

Katy worked on two seasons of the documentary series 7TH GEN, the feature documentaries TRUE STORY PART ONE and TRUE STORY PART TWO for History Channel. PART ONE earned a nomination for a Banff Rockie and the Red National International Film Festival, and was an official selection at Native Women in Film Festival. Katy was an Associate Producer on the fifth season of the multi-award-winning and CSA-nominated true crime documentary series TAKEN about missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, men and boys, and Two-Spirit and non-binary people in Canada for APTN. Katy was also an Associate Producer on the hit comedy feature DEANER ’89 which was nominated for 5 CSA’s and is currently streaming on platforms across Canada.

Currently, Katy is working on Eagle Vision’s first animated series, in partnership with Sinking Ship Entertainment, and the thriller feature A YEAR WITHOUT SUN.
