Anishinaabe filmmaker Lisa Meeches, from Long Plain First Nation, is one of the most respected producers in the film industry, and is a Member of the Order of Canada and Order of Manitoba. Select credits include The Sharing Circle, one of Canada’s longest-running Indigenous television series; Ice Road Truckers; the Parent’s Choice award-winning children’s series Tipi Tales; the Gemini Award-winning Elijah; the CSA award-winning Jack and We Were Children, the features Finality of Dusk and Night Raiders, and the series Burden of Truth. Lisa is the Executive Director of the Manito Ahbee Festival, and has won many honours for her community work.
