Sr. Director, Business Affairs, Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA)

Marcia Douglas is the Senior Director- Business Affairs and Digital Initiatives at the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA). The CMPA represents the interest of independent producers to promote and advance the continued success of Canada’s independent production sector. Marcia brings extensive experience in, and strategic insight into, the Canadian media landscape for traditional and digital platforms.

With a background in production and financing, at the CMPA, Marcia works to establish opportunities and policies for producer interests in their businesses and deals.

Prior to joining the CMPA, she was the program manager for the Bell Fund, where she oversaw the day-to-day operations of the convergent fund, supporting the development and production of hundreds of linear and interactive projects. She also served as an analyst for the Cogeco Fund and the Independent Production Fund. Earlier in her career, she was an assistant director and production manager, and she produced several award-winning projects that screened at festivals worldwide.
