MARCIA DOUGLAS

Senior Director- Business Affairs at the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA)

The CMPA represents the interests of English-language independent producers across the country to promote and advance the continued success of the Canada’s independent production sector. With a background in production and financing, Marcia works to identify and establish opportunities for producers creating content for all platforms and audiences.

Prior to joining the CMPA, she was the program manager for the Bell Fund, where she oversaw the day-to-day operations of the convergent fund, supporting the development and production of hundreds of linear and interactive projects. She also served as an analyst for the Cogeco Fund and the Independent Production Fund. Earlier in her career, she was an assistant director and production manager, and she produced several award-winning projects that screened at festivals worldwide.

Marcia has a postgraduate certificate in children’s media, and she has spoken at various industry events across Canada about digital opportunities, production, and financing. She also serves on several industry and program advisory committees, including the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, Interactive Ontario, WIFT-T, Screen Industries Research and Training Centre, and Centennial College.​
