Melissa Kajpust

Provincial Film Liaison Manager, Manitoba Department of Sport, Culture and Heritage

Melissa Kajpust manages grant funding and all aspects of the government's relationship with Manitoba Film and Music. She is responsible for project management, contracting, locations and policy development for the media production industries and their ongoing interactions with various departments and agencies across the Government of Manitoba and other jurisdictions globally. She is the primary consultant for Manitoba's film and music cultural industries and is responsible for the department's funding and policy development for the film and music-related industry associations, sector councils and related regional organizations.

Prior to joining government, Melissa was VP of Programming at Super Channel where she commissioned national and international programming for a suite of 4 channels. She is also a screenwriter, a published children's author (Hyperion/Disney) and the recipient of a YWCA Women of Distinction Award for her work on the National Screen Institute's renowned CBC New Indigenous Voices Program.
