Rebecca gibson

Partner & Head of Development - Eagle Vision

Rebecca Gibson is a partner in Eagle Vision and Head of Development. Following graduation from the New York Film Academy, a CFTPA International Internship took Rebecca to Los Angeles at the start of her film career. As a writer, director, producer, and actor, Rebecca’s work in documentary, drama, and comedy has played in festivals, in theatres, and on TV screens around the world. Credits include her ACTRA Award-winning role in The Pinkertons (Netflix), and playing opposite Adam Beach in the recent Juliana and the Medicine Fish; co-writing and producing Danishka Esterhazy's award-winning drama H&G, which recently had a retrospective screening at the TIFF Lightbox; and writing and directing the award-winning comedy Hard Way Girl. Rebecca was showrunner, a writer, and director for all four seasons of the series Taken (APTN/CBC), for which she won a Beyond Borders Media Award and was nominated for three CSAs.

In her first year as Head of Development for Eagle Vision, Rebecca has worked with industry-leading co-production partners and supported the vision of local creators to build a rich and diverse slate of content that ranges from comedy to drama, animation to factual, features to series, and more.

Rebecca is devoted to mentorship, working with the CMPA, ACTRA, WIDC, among several other organizations to support diversity, accessibility, and inclusion. Rebecca founded Orange Daisy Project, a social action campaign in support of mental health for teen girls. She was honoured nationally as a CAMH Difference Maker and was ACTRA Manitoba's 2018 Woman of the Year.
