Réjean Labrie

Concepteur Artistique/Production Designer/Art Director

Born in Quebec City Réjean with his interest in design enrolled in architecture at Laval University.  His passion of creating environment inspired by characters and making movie lead him to study set design and film at Montréal’s Concordia University.  

After graduating he received a scholarship from the Banff School of Fine Arts to study set and costume design.  His work for theatre brought him to Winnipeg first with Le Cercle Molière followed with the many local companies. He became quickly involved in the Manitoba film industry in the early 1990’s. With the support of very talented crews Rejean established himself as a leading production designer and art director. For the last 30 years he has worked on more than 80 productions.

His first main feature was “Twilight of the Ice Nymphs” with director Guy Maddin followed by “My Winnipeg”.  

His Canadian feature credits include “Lucid” and  "My Awkward Sexual Adventures” with director Sean Garrity.  First  TV credits include “Nights Below Station Street” with director Norma Bailey.  Among other projects four episodes for the SYFY TV Series Channel Zero, feature “The Parts you Lose” with actor Aaron Paul.

In 2021 Réjean was production designer on the CBC TV Series “ The Porter”. Most recently he has focused on french projects with “Padre” for TV5 Unis and Danielle Sturk’s Manitoba TV Series “El Toro” for Radio Canada.  His next project will be for the same network designing the second season for “Le Monde de Gabrielle Roy”.
