Scott White has been Director of CAVCO at the Department of Canadian Heritage since November 2017. Previously, he was Director of Film and Video Policy and Programs for several years, where his responsibilities included negotiation of audiovisual coproduction treaties, film distribution policy, and the policy framework for federal film and video tax credits. His earlier positions with the federal government, all at Canadian Heritage, included acting director of periodicals, manager of periodical publishing policy, and manager of the book publishing program. Before joining the public service, he spent ten years in the newspaper business in the Montreal area. Scott is a native of Vancouver and has a master’s degree in public administration.
