Know Before You Go

The conversations on January 14 bring together industry leaders, funders, training partners, and the broader Manitoba production community to talk openly about growth, sustainability, and how we work together across the media production industry.

Preparing in advance helps ensure these discussions are informed, respectful, and productive for everyone in the room. The resources below outline two important steps participants are encouraged to take before attending.

Take the PACT – A self-paced online Indigenous cultural competency course for the screen sector

As Indigenous producers, companies, and crew continue to shape Manitoba’s media production industry, it is essential that the broader production community shows up informed, respectful, and ready to work together.

PACT (Pledge, Activate, Cultivate, Thrive), is a free, self-paced online Indigenous cultural competency course for the screen sector. It is designed for non-Indigenous industry members working alongside Indigenous partners, stories, and teams, across all roles and departments.

Developed by the National Screen Institute and The Shine Network Institute, PACT provides practical context for cultural humility, collaboration, and day-to-day working relationships on set and beyond. It is a strong starting point for anyone working in Manitoba’s production ecosystem.

Share Your Input: Help Shape Manitoba’s Sustainable Production Framework

Your input will directly shape our Sustainability Framework Workshop and help drive long-term impact.

On Screen Manitoba and Green Spark Group are gathering industry feedback to guide the Sustainability Framework Workshop at All Access 365 on January 14.

This work aims to develop a Manitoba-specific approach to sustainability that reflects our province’s unique industry conditions, shared responsibilities to the land we use, and integrated perspectives of our community.

This framework will explore how environmental sustainability and inclusive industry practices intersect—guided by what we’re hearing from producers, crew, service suppliers, and partners about what is needed for the Manitoba Production Industry to move forward together.

We’re inviting production companies, all crew and technicians, service suppliers, and community partners to share your perspective on what’s working, where challenges remain, and what actions will have meaningful impact.

Your feedback will directly shape the workshop design and the broader sustainability roadmap for Manitoba’s production industry.

The survey takes will take about 10 minutes—thank you for contributing.
